The Wilderness Golf League was started many many years ago and there are now 5 players left from the original group of 24 that started playing in 1990. They are as follows: Tom Hale, Norm Comeau, Alan Imlach, Rick Maloney and Jay McGillicuddy.
They started playing at Pine Valley Golf Course in Pelham, NH until 1994 when they moved to Campbell’s Scottish Highlands Golf Course in Salem, NH. They play Wednesday afternoon’s for 20 weeks starting the first Wednesday in April and play for 20 consecutive weeks unless the 4th of July falls on a Wednesday.
There are usually 6 four man teams, with 4 flights A, B, C, D, They play stroke play based on handicaps and match play.
We also have two field days with prize money and lots of good food. We usually play at a different course each year if possible the week before Father’s day.
Second field day is usually our Championship round and is our Finale for the season. A great cookout is the norm for the afternoon.
