I wonder if anyone can guess which tee box this is and which golf course this photo was taken at. It is a par 4 slight dogleg to the right.

(hint) not in New England.

This was another spectacular day as temps were in the low 80’s and a little humid but not bad. We were scheduled to go off the back but due to a light crowd on the course they let us go off the front. It’s been a while since we saw the front.

Steve King matched up with Bill Wilson this week for the first time this year and it looks like King’s game has finally come around. His sweet 39 was enough to trip up Wilson and King came in with a much needed 4 points for the team. Wilson jumped out to a one up lead after 2 with a nice birdie but King came storming back on the 4th hole with a great par and par on 5 to take the lead and then go two up on 6 with three to play. Both players bogeyed 7 and Kings par on 8 sealed the deal.  Wilson’s 4 over is nothing to sneeze at. Nice round.

Norm Comeau squared off with Glenn Acciard and they were all even through two and then Comeau’s wheels started to fall off as he tripled the par three and a double on the 4th got Comeau 2 down awful quick. Comeau bounced back with a nice par on the 5th but a triple on the 6th didn’t help his cause too much.  Comeau had a double bogey on 7 and a double bogey again on the 8th and all these doubles have led to his demise. What a difference a week makes. Comeau must not have had his lucky golf shirt on this week.

Jim Waterman took on Mike Berry this week and Berry took off like a bat out of hell with pars on the first two holes to go 2 up. Then all of a sudden Berry must have found himself in the Twilight Zone as he double bogeyed 3, 4 and 5 and a triple bogey on 6 and a bogey on 7 were enough to be closed out by Waterman. Waterman has played the steadiest golf he has played in years. Looks like the new clubs have worked out well for Waterman. Waterman should take a lot coin come Sunday.

Rusty Gill paired off with “The Scotsman” Jim Marnie and this looked like a great match on the card.  Holes 1 & 2 were halved with pars and Gill jumped ahead by parring 3 while Marnie double bogeyed but Gill found trouble on 4 and 5 as Marnie went one up. Gill tied the match up on 6 but gave it right back to Marnie on 7 only to lose the match on 8 with a bogey to lose this match 2-1 but finished the 9th with a nice birdie.
